Speaker Bio
Christian Hanley is Partner and Director of Technology at OLIN, a landscape architecture, urban design and planning firm with studios in Philadelphia and Los Angeles. Based in Philadelphia, Chris has been leading the studio’s innovations in research, technology and executive management for the past 11 years. With over 18 years of experience in digital design technology and information management, his current focus is evolving the integration of research in OLIN’s design process. From the development of OLIN’s internal web-based Knowledge base, to teaching new practice approaches, to intense material investigations, Chris continually investigates and develops various methodologies which evolve OLIN’s design culture. His other areas of investigation include digital fabrication technologies, information modeling for landscapes, and researching/developing applicable uses for experimental sensing technologies in the built landscape. He is on the Board of Advisors at Gehry Technologies, a strategic alliance of design professionals dedicated to transforming the effectiveness of the building industry through the use of technology.
