Speaker Bios
Stephen Van Dyck is a Principal at LMN Architects in Seattle where he serves as project designer for large cultural and institutional projects. The 90-person firm, established in 1979, has designed and delivered a wide range of project types throughout the United States and beyond. Stephen leads the project implementation of LMN’s Tech Studio group, an integrated design technology lab at LMN Architects. He has served as a lecturer and studio critic at Yale University. Prior to joining LMN Architects in 2009 Stephen was a project leader at SHoP Architects in New York. He earned his Master’s Degree in Architecture from Yale University, is a LEED Accredited Professional, and a Registered Architect in New York State.

As director of the firm’s Advanced Computational Modeling team, Jonatan Schumacher oversees and implements strategic development related to integrated structural design, façade design and building information modeling. He works closely with the building structure, building skin and building performance practices, assisting project teams firm wide. His experience encompasses architecture, engineering, product design, robotics and computer science. His areas of expertise include digital fabrication, automatic and generative geometry, computational analysis and building information modeling. Jonatan lectures at Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, N.J. and at the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, N.Y. He holds a master’s degree in architectural engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in Product Design and Engineering from Middlesex University, London.
