From Idea to Inferno: Lighting the Innovation Fire at Kaiser Permanente

David Grandy, Director of Innovation
HDR

Speaker Bio
Having worked on five continents and with organizations like Kaiser Permanente and the Department of Defense, David is HDR’s expert in kick-starting innovation with clients and design teams who are stuck in the ordinary and struggling to think beyond today. In addition, his background as a healthcare executive gives him keen insight into how ideas can be successfully deployed across large organizations to make them new realities instead of just new concepts. As HDR’s Director of Innovation, David is integrated into many of HDR’s design efforts, working side-by-side with clients to ensure innovation remains at the forefront of their thinking, and with designers to help them execute solutions flawlessly David is the former Clinical Ethics Officer for a major US health system, helped administer an NIH sponsored study of the implications of the Human Genome Project, and studied healthcare practices as a student in Britain’s National Health Service.

Murali Selvaraj + Yash Chitale (Perkins + Will), Jonathan Schumacher (Thornton Tomasetti), Stephan Van Dyck (LMN Architects), and David Grandy (HDR) talk about systematizing innovation.
