As Research Director for Computational Design in Bentley Systems’ Applied Research Group, Volker Mueller identifies and pursues innovation through collaboration with academics and practitioners. His current focus is early design feedback in design tools for sustainable infrastructure projects from building to urban scale. His perspective is shaped by experiences in architectural practice as technology strategist and implementer, as software developer for 3D modeling software, and as researcher at the ZGDV Darmstadt. He earned a Dipl.-Ing. Architecture from the TU Berlin in 1988, and as Fulbright Grantee, an M.Arch. with Computer Aided Architectural Design Certificate from the Ohio State University in 1991.
